In the event anyone was worried about how the new Lamborghini Huracan would fare in the fierce market, they have sold 700 units in the first month. That is correct, the Lamborghini Gallardo replacement is running over competition and completely surpassing projections—even before the official reveal! The Huracan will take the stage at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show next month.
To put things into perspective, total sales for Lamborghini were 2,121 units last year. That makes the sale of 700 Lamborghini Huracan cars in one month a total shock. The brand spared no expense in quietly drumming up anticipation for the Huracan, which certainly had large shoes to fill from the long-reigning Gallardo. Because the Gallardo was king for so long, the replacement will likely be worth much more down the road, making it an ideal collector car to scoop up.
The powerful Huracan houses a heftier version of the 5.2-liter V10 from the Gallardo. The mid-mounted engine kicks out 610 horses, nailing the 0-60 mile per hour sprint in just 3.2 seconds. While it is automated transmission only, the Huracan is AWD with a top speed exceeding 200 miles per hour.
The company has been privately showing VIP clients the Lamborghini Huracan at exclusive parties all over the world. The world must wait until March to get close to the Huracan in Geneva, with pricing for the U.S. market coming later.
